Between art and words
Diary of an author 05
Hello, writing person.
I haven't posted anything here for a long time, and since I'm working on big and beautiful projects again, I felt the urge to bring some life back here as well.
My debut novel was originally supposed to see the light of day in July, but as sometimes happens, the universe had other plans. Amid technical problems with the release, I have significantly developed my artistic style, especially regarding cover design, and naturally wanted to implement it immediately. And since the book is part of a trilogy, with subsequent books already in planning, I took the opportunity to change the entire design of the series. I love it.
Sometimes these unplanned intermediate stages in any creative work are the best thing that can happen to the project - even if they initially bring you to the brink of despair.
Furthermore, there are currently two major projects in progress, about which I will be able to tell you more very soon. My entire work here combines my passion for design, art, and words into one. This is exactly what I have been looking for for years.
And between revising the book covers and the two projects, I'm of course continuing to write the second volume of the trilogy. This currently measures 53,106 words - about 20k words away from my goal. At this point, I can no longer estimate how many words the manuscript will ultimately have, because there are still about three chapters ahead for the characters, but the characters seem to have other plans again, which is why the story might turn out to be longer than planned. Subsequently, editing and proofreading follow, during which the word count typically changes drastically again.
So, it's written in the stars how thick Volume 2 will be. I am really looking forward to sharing them with you!
Until the next post, I wish you a wonderful time.
