Plotbunnies and other stories
The Diary of an Author 02
Three days and 3640 words later, I can officially say that a new plot bunny has made it into the lineup of novels to be written. I'll call it "Project Romance" for now – although I notice that the diary theme occasionally runs through all my novels. Maybe it's a topic that's on my mind right now, who knows? It was once again not planned at all.
Those who write themselves are aware that plot bunnies come and go as they please.
This plot bunny, however, has gotten caught in the sounds of my keyboard and probably won't come out anytime soon. This novel will stand in the grand light of the romance genre, as that is its main aspect. A newspaper editor, desperately searching for his moment of glory, comes across the story of an unknown woman—literally, as he finds her diary and can't resist reading a page or two. Until the longing for that very stranger becomes too great and he sets out on a quest.
Will he find her between her written words, or is that all that remains of her?
We will probably find out, because as a plantser (in the next post I will write about plotting books and the different types of it), the story is partially created while writing and partially pre-plotted. Accordingly, I am also curious about where it is going.
Do you have any (or several) writing projects that you are currently working on? Feel free to write the first sentence from it in our Burg Büchertraum Discord server – if you want, you can also tell us a bit more about your project.
Until the next post, I wish you a wonderful time.
